COLD DEFATTING - REMOVAL OF «ASPHALT STAINS»

Cold degreasing removes tar and glue residues. This step is also included in a thorough cleaning and preparation of the car's surface. Should be performed a couple of times a year, preferably in spring and autumn. There is no need for this step at every wash.

Removal of small stains such as glue, tar, fuel and the like is carried out after a thorough prewash. These impurities can damage paint when exposed to direct sunlight or heat. Tar, glue and the like do not come loose when using ordinary cleaning agents. A remedy developed for just this is required.

Cold degreasing is specially designed to react with impurities that are difficult to remove from the surface. These are also often referred to as "asphalt stains". The effect can be increased by gently using a solvent-proof brush to distribute the substance. Finally, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water.

Tar removal and the like is a very important part of the process for a complete and thorough preparation. This is often done in connection with the removal of metal particles. We recommend removing metal particles before using cold degreasing.

Make sure that the rims are also treated when you change tires for the season! It is incredibly rewarding to see how clean and beautiful the rims are.

Guide for cold degreasing

Below is a general guide on how to use cold degreaser. Always check the instructions on the product you are going to use!

1. Wash the car / rims so that all loose dirt is off. Feel free to use an effective solvent-based agent. If you plan to use a metal particle remover, do this before proceeding. Do not use cold degreasing in direct sunlight or on hot surfaces.

2. Spray the solvent on the surface to be treated and let it work for approx. 5-10 minutes. Do not allow the solution to dry on the surface.

3. To ensure even distribution and an improved cleaning effect, you can spread the product with a microfiber cloth or a suitable brush. On the rims, more treatments may often be needed.

4. Rinse the treated surface thoroughly with a high pressure washer or water hose.

5. Repeat treatment if necessary.
