REMOVAL OF METAL PARTICLES

Removal of iron particles is also part of a thorough cleaning of the car.

Iron particle removal is a good idea to perform at least a couple of times a year, preferably in spring and autumn. There is no need to do this with every wash or if the varnish has been treated with Onyx Coating products. Iron removal is done after prewash and hand washing. This removes small iron particles that are stuck in the paint, as well as those that have already begun to oxidize. Metal particles are often the cause of small rust stains in the paint and can not be removed with ordinary detergents.

Iron particles are removed with a special agent for this very purpose. The vehicle is sprayed and the agent reacts with the iron particles. You will often see a reaction called "bleeding" There will be reddish / purple streaks when the drug reacts.

Feel free to use a broom on slightly coarser stains. Make sure that the broom is intended for solvents so that it is not damaged. Sometimes more treatments may be required on the worst spots. Rinse thoroughly and do not allow the fabric to dry.

Removal of iron particles is very important and a crucial stage for a complete cleaning and preparation of the car.

Make sure you take the rims too! At least during the spring and fall when changing tires.

Using an iron remover on the rims is incredibly rewarding, especially because the inside of the rim is extremely exposed to brake dust. Get a clean rim again using an iron remover.

Guide for removing metal particles

Below is a general explanation for the use of products that remove metal particles.

Always check the instructions for use on the product you have purchased.

  1. Wash loose dirt on the car before starting with a metal particle remover. Preferably an effective solvent.

  2. Spray the product on the area to be treated and let it react for approx. 5 minutes. The fabric will change color to purple / red

  3. To ensure an even spread and to get the most out of the substance, we recommend gently spreading the solution outwards. Preferably with a solvent-safe brush.

  4. Do not allow the product to dry on the surface. Do not use in direct sunlight or on hot surfaces.

  5. Finally, clean thoroughly.

  6. Repeat the process if necessary.
